Trekking in the Khibiny, White Sea and Kem

This will be the most active day of the trip. Early in the morning, you will set out to conquer the majestic Khibiny. The preparation for the trekking is simple: a couple of sandwiches and a bottle of water in your backpack - and you can leave at least for the whole day.
The further it goes, the easier it is. You quickly stop paying attention to the discomfort and with every meter you admire the mountain scenery more and more. We'll have lunch in Kirovsk, and then go home. On the way we'll go to the shore of the White Sea, and then we'll spend the night in the town of Kem.

    Хибины

You can climb to the top of Mount Aykuaivenchorr (1075 meters) with a lift. From here starts several ski slopes. However, the Khibiny Mountains can entertain a traveler all year round: skiing ends and skiing begins.
There are dozens of options for hiking in Khibiny. For example, you can go to Lake Maly Vudyavr, from there to the Molybdenum mines, then climb Mount Takhtarvumchorr and return through the Geografov Pass. The road is quite good here and there, but somewhere you will have to do a good job to find the path. The length of such route is about 12-15 km.

    Ресторан Северное счастье в Мурманске

There's a savage appetite in the mountains! We go down to Kirovsk and run to the cafe "Happiness". It's a good choice when you want to eat quickly and deliciously. The name is quite justified: it is light and cozy here, and the prices are pure happiness! In the afternoon we go on our way back.

    Висячий Мост

We stop in Kandalaksha - a small town on the shore of the White Sea Bay. It is noteworthy that the origin of the name of the city has not been established yet. According to one version it came from the word "laksha", which means "bay" in the Karelian language. Thus, Kandalaksha is the place where the river Kanda flows into the bay. It's true that the local river is called quite differently.
The city is located at the foot of the Cross Mountain. Be sure to climb it to admire the scenery and make noble selfies. And walk along the hanging pedestrian bridge across the Niva River - another chic location for the photo.

Passing through the village of Zelenoborsky. I recommend making a stop here. The village became the place of shooting the film "Petya on the way to the kingdom of heaven" by Nikolai Dostal. It's true that on the screen the village turns into a postwar Kandalaksha. Interestingly, a good half of the locals were filmed.

    Тэдино

We'll stop for dinner at Café Tedino: it's almost the only place in the area where you can have a snack at this hour.
