Orlando's Winter Park Is a Year-Round Destination

Up and at ‘em—but first, coffee. If you didn't have a chance to grab a cup of coffee or a bite to eat before you left Miami, pull over for a quick stop at Koffee Kult in Hollywood. The local roaster prides itself on killer cups of coffee using beans harvested in Africa, Indonesia, and Central and South America, served any way you like it. For non-coffee drinkers, tea is available, too.

It may come as a surprise, but The Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art houses the world's largest collection of works by Louis Comfort Tiffany. In addition to his famed lamps and jewelry, the exhibits within the museum include Tiffany's pottery, paintings, art glass, and more.


Perhaps the most striking in all of the collection is Tiffany’s chapel interior from the 1893 World Expo in Chicago.

A terrific way to get the lay of the land in Winter Park is, in fact, on the water. This afternoon you will take the last hour-long Scenic Boat Tour of the day (4pm) and travel along the small canals that wind through the neighborhoods’ chain of lakes.
The boat tours, which began in 1938, are quite popular, so you will want to be sure to make a reservation ahead of time.

You’ll wrap up your first day in Orlando in the same place you started when you dine at Umi Winter Park. The chefs here prepare Japanese dishes with a flourish all their own.
Take the Park Avenue sushi roll, for example: snow crab, avocado, and friend scallion are topped with wagyu beef and sautéed mushrooms with a soy brown butter and balsamic teriyaki sauce. Or, there’s the vegan Lemon Kiss: roasted cauliflower, avocado, carrot, spinach, lemon rind, and asparagus rolled in soy paper and topped with sesame dressing.
