Delware Shopping, Wildlife, and a Quick Stop in the Maryland Capital

Egg is a unique breakfast and brunch spot in downtown Rehoboth.
There are so many options here that everyone will find something they like. If you're not sure what to get, order the McQuay, a mix of roasted barley, spinach, beets, and goat cheese, topped with a sunny-side up egg.
And if you don't want eggs, fret not; there are still lots of things on the menu for you: french toast, pancakes, crepes, and more. The biscuits & gravy here are also quite popular, and many people pick up a box of biscuits to take home with them.

Delaware has no sales tax, making the state a prime shopping spot for others in nearby states.
Take advantage of this and some time at Tanger Outlets, which has more than 100 outlet stores, including luxury and designer brands.

Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge was first established in 1963 as a sanctuary for migratory birds.
Nearly 60 years later, this refuge today is a prime spot for bird watching. With more than 10,000 acres, this refuge has a variety of bird habitats, including freshwater and salt marshes, grassland, ponds, and woodlands. You can find more than 250 species of birds here, as well as a variety of other wildlife.
If you're not a birder or even super into wildlife, you should visit anyway. There are walking trails, a canoe trail, and wildlife observation areas where you can learn more.

In 1965, Annapolis became one of the first cities to become a National Historic Landmark District. This status covers most of the colonial historic district as well as the waterfront.
Many 18th-century buildings still stand here, including historic residences, townhouses, and the Maryland State House, which is nearby. The State House is the oldest state capitol in continuous legislative use and the only one ever used as the nation's Capitol.
On your way back to DC, stop here to get some dinner and do some window-shopping.
