An Exciting Day Exploring Leipzig, One of the Most Famous Cities in Germany

Have a quick time out and wander around this quiet small town of Grimma. A place to get some fresh air off the beaten track from the tourists. The square is surrounded by lovely architecture dating back to the 19th century.

A short walk away is Frauenkirche. A lovely church in a lovely, quiet setting and grounds. A great place to relax and reflect in an area away from the beaten tracks of tourists. Spend your time walking and sitting in the perfect surrounding gardens.

The first thing to do when you first arrive in Leipzig is to stretch your legs around the beautiful Marktplatz. Regardless of what time of the year you visit Leipzig you will see plenty going on here. Also, it is an amazing chance to take some great photos.

A short walk from the Marktplatz is the Opera house. This very famous location was once one of the biggest attractions in the city. From Just walking around the surrounding area and admiring the architecture, you can see why.

When you arrive in Leipzig one of the most dominating buildings on the skyline is the Federal Administrative Court. So obviously, this easily draws your attraction. I think you will agree, it's one of the best examples of architecture in the city.

Now it's time to visit one of the most stunning Churches in this part of Europe. From the outside, it looks nice, but once you step inside, you'll be glad you did! This will be a breathtaking sight.

Visit Alte Borse, One of the oldest buildings in the city. Dating back to the 1670s it has some truly remarkable architecture and history to go along with it.

Take a peaceful stroll around the Contemporary History Museum, offering fascinating exhibits. This museum will show the division within Germany's past along with giving an insight into life behind the Iron curtain.

A short walk from your lunch will be the new Town Hall. Another historical and eye-catching structure in a city that you will be noticing has a lot to offer architecture lovers. The Building dates back to 1905 so is pretty new compared to other landmarks around the city.

Right in the city centre is the St Thomas Church. An amazing-looking church which can look even better when lit up at nighttime. Those who travel around Central Europe will notice very familiar architecture that can also be seen in cities like Prague.
I recommend visiting just the outside of the Church and take some beuatiful souvenir photos.

Take a late afternoon wander around the Nordplatz and view the Leibniz Gymnasium. This is a lovely peaceful corner of the city which can be great for pictures as the evening lights come on.

After a long day walking around the city if Leipzig, it's time to enjoy one of the most popular restaurants, not only with tourists but many locals as well. I, personally, recommend the Burgers here and the deserts for anyone with a sweet tooth.
