Oslo Cathedral
After the check in at our hotel, which we had reached in a few minutes by foot from the train station, we went directly to explore Oslo city center.
First we went to the obligatory sightseeing monument of every city trip - the cathedral of the city. It is interesting that this church building is already the third one in the city, because a church became superfluous when the city centre was moved in the 17th century and the new church burned down a few years later. In its place, the present cathedral has been standing for over 300 years. It is relatively simple from the outside, but I really liked the beautiful colourful ceiling paintings inside.

Baker Hansen
After the visit of the cathedral we found the bakery Hansen on the way to the harbour and we got hungry. So we first allowed ourselves a piece of cake and a delicious cup of coffee before we continued with our tour.

Havnepromenade
Our next destination was the harbour promenade of Oslo. I had already rummaged a lot in my travel guide before our trip and the pictures of this exciting scenery made me curious. And I have to say, I was not disappointed, because during our walk we could always enjoy new perspectives on the modern opera house and the fascinating glass sculpture "She Lies", framed by the Oslo skyline of the quarter Barcode.

Café Skansen
We walked a little bit along the harbour to the quarter Aker Brygge and found there the nice restaurant "Skansen Café", which offers a selection of Scandinavian dishes at fair prices. We both decided for a fish dish, I had baked salmon with green asparagus - really super delicious, but the menu also offers something for meat lovers and vegetarians.
