The Cathedral of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary

Dubrovnik Cathedral or "Church of the Assumption" is actually the third church built on the site. The first was an early Christian church built in the 7th century in the Byzantine style. In the 12th century it was replaced by a Romanesque church. This new Romanesque church was damaged in the great earthquake of 1667 and was rebuilt in the Baroque style that we see today. You should definitely visit the treasury to see the most valuable religious artifacts of the cathedral. Many of the exhibits date from the 11th century. The entrance fee for the treasure chamber is 10HRK (approx. 1.35€). Otherwise the entrance is free.

    Above 5 Rooftop Restaurant

After the sightseeing you will surely be hungry, so we will go to this restaurant where a magnificent view awaits you. Even if the hunger is not too big, it is worth the way to have a glass of wine or a cool beer here. The ambience is very nice and the service is very attentive and courteous. All in all this is a rather upper class place.

    Trsteno Arboretum

Trsteno is located about 20 km south of Dubrovnik and is a small and idyllic village on the Croatian coast. With the bus you can get from the "Dubrovnik Bus-Terminal" directly to the centre of Trsteno for only 3€. The name of this place comes from the Croatian word "trstika" and stands for "reed", which grows here because of the rich water resources. You can admire here two huge oriental plane trees, which are over 400 years old and are the highest in Europe. The main attraction of this small place is the "Arboretum Trsteno", the only botanical garden on the Adriatic coast in Croatia, which was declared a cultural and natural heritage site. It is especially famous for its historical gardens and collection of Mediterranean and exotic plants and was established in 1948 in the summer residence of the Dubrovnik noble family Gučetić-Gozze. The garden is protected as a monument of garden architecture. You can also take your bathing clothes with you, as there are enchanting bathing facilities here.

    Culto Restaurant

Back to Dubrovnik you will get back by bus. I can highly recommend the Culto Restaurant to spend your last evening in this beautiful city. The restaurant is located near the harbour and has a very modern interior. The dishes are served very appealing, rich and the prices are reasonable. Enjoy the evening and the delicious food with nice live music.
