    Museo Nacional del Prado

Also today, a museum was again on our daily schedule, this time the world famous "Prado". Here, the older classics of the art history that were created before the 19th century can be found. The museum was open from 10 to 20 o'clock and was full of curious tourists like us. A ticket costs 15 euro, those who want to have a travel guide in addition have to add 9 euro on top.

    Kiosko Galapagos

After our visit to the Prado we wanted to get to know the famous Retiro Park that is located right behind the museum. Through the Puerta Felipe IV, the gate of Felipe, we went into the park and walked around aimlessly. We could admire fountains, statues and beautiful rose gardens and watch many people, Spanish as well as tourists, who spent their siesta here. At the pond in the middle of the park we sat down at a small kiosk and drank a cold lemonade.

    Embarcadero del Retiro

A few meters from the kiosk was a rental station for rowing boats. The pond was full of the small blue boats and so my fiancé and I got infected. For 6 Euro we could splash around on the pond for three quarters of an hour and enjoy the sun to the full. All this with the monument of King Alfonso XII in the background.

    Palacio de Cristal

After we returned the boat, we walked along the pond to the south and came across the famous Crystal Palace. This impressive pavilion from 1887, which was once a greenhouse for plants from the colonies, is open to visitors. In summer it is open from 10 to 22 o'clock and in winter from 10 to 18 o'clock.

Estación Madrid - Puerta de Atocha

Our next station was the train station Atocha. Some people might ask themselves, why the hell did these people want to visit a train station? But this station is not only a station, it is also a tropical hall. A part of the entrance hall has been converted to house tropical plants. Turtles and smaller fish swim in the small ponds. It looks as if someone has planted a piece of jungle simply an old railway station and sweetened everyone's wait for the next train.

    Takos Al Pastor

With the M 1 we drove back to our quarter. There, only a few meters away from our hotel, at the Plaza del Carmen, we found a delicious, casual Mexican restaurant. From the outside it didn't look very nice, but don't let that fool you. The food was great and the prices were more than fair.
