La Bicicleta
After we walked a little through the quarter, we stopped at the Bicycle Café. The interior was very rustic and modern. The tables and chairs were all mixed up. Especially young people, maybe students, came here. We drank café and ate delicious Spanish toast with avocado or Pulled Pork and enjoyed ourselves.

Intertropico Alimentos Latino para el Mundo
We walked even further through the quarter, which seemed very modern and creative. There were bars everywhere, which pointed to an active nightlife, but also great boutiques to shop. Moreover, we could admire here the great buildings of Madrid. In a supermarket opposite the Edificio Espana we bought some snacks for later. The skyscraper is the eighth highest building of Madrid and beautiful in its emblematic style.

Spain Square (Plaza de España)
Directly in front of the Edificio Espana is the "Square of Spain". The square is overlooked by the fictional national hero Don Quixote. You should have seen the square once and taken a photo.

Temple of Debod
A few meters further on, the eastern park begins, which houses the temple of Debod. This perfect replica of an Egyptian temple is usually open to visitors. Therefore we were very disappointed when we found out that we could not enter the building. Due to construction work it was closed for visitors. Instead, we sat down under the trees and enjoyed the view to the Palacio Real while we had a snack.

Rosi La Loca
The Rosi La Loca is a quaint little tapas bar. We had delicious cocktails and great tapas here and enjoyed the different Spanish dishes. And it was only 10 minutes away from our hotel! We could have spent the whole evening here, if it was not for the last stop of the day...

Blackbird Rock Bar
I love music. I not only teach it, I play it myself. My life would be so much drab and grey without music. That's why my fiancé had the great idea to enjoy at least one evening of live music in Madrid. At the rock bar "Blackbird", there is a party every night. Often from 10 pm you can enjoy music here every night. Sometimes it is rock, sometimes blues, sometimes acoustic, sometimes Spanish rock. Whether covers or own songs, in the Blackbird everyone will find something for himself. For example, we could enjoy a Blues & Soul Jam Session for free. Some evenings cost admission, but the 5 Euros are a joke for the great music.
